Artist's Statement:

I started this piece with the intent of making it a sketch. I wanted to try colored pencil so I started with the eye and expanded. There was no sketch or planning. I also only used Crayola pencils because that's what I had available. Since the piece took so long to do, I decided to finish it and make it a piece rather than start a completely new one. I like the dramatic lighting but I don't think I executed it very well. I then just put random colors and things on the rest of the painting because colored pencil was taking too long.
